Visiting Professor Programme Expanded to New Institutions

March 2025
Category: Academic Mobility

My APA is proud to announce the expansion of its Visiting Professor Programme, now extended to include three prominent UK universities: the University of Derby, Loughborough University, and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). This marks a significant step forward in promoting international academic exchange between Central Asia and the United Kingdom.

The Visiting Professor Programme enables experienced academics from Central Asia to undertake short-term academic visits at leading UK institutions. During these placements, visiting scholars contribute to host universities through teaching, research collaboration, guest lectures, and engagement with academic communities. The aim is to foster mutual learning, build institutional partnerships, and support the globalisation of academic practice.

The inclusion of these three universities reflects growing interest from UK higher education institutions in strengthening ties with Central Asian researchers and academic institutions. It also responds to increasing demand from Central Asian scholars seeking to expand their international experience and contribute to global academic networks.

My APA will continue to work closely with participating universities to ensure each visit is tailored to the academic expertise and institutional priorities of the scholars and hosts. Support will be provided throughout the process, from placement planning and visa support to post-visit evaluation.

Further calls for expressions of interest will be issued shortly, and eligible academics will be invited to apply for upcoming placements starting in Summer and Autumn 2025.

This initiative forms part of My APA’s broader commitment to enhancing academic mobility, capacity building, and knowledge exchange between Central Asia and the global academic community.
